This song has been stuck in our heads since first listen. On “Hometown,” Portland’s Babytooth have created a sentimental snapshot of nuanced longing and nostalgia. There is an instant charm to the song’s fuzzy-edged, warm sway that carries the plea of the lyrics forward with a steady push. Each repetition of the chorus hits with the same fervor, even though the lyrics change slightly. The little guitar riffs tucked around the lyrical phrases and the keys that come in full force in these choruses really bring this song to life. It’s the kind of sweet and sincere tune that leaves the listener craving more.
