Cops Hill bring a rejuvenating warmth to the pain of loss on “Hold on to Me.” The latest track from the Nottingham-based duo of Clyde Scothern & Adam Larke has an inviting, sonic breeziness that stems from the glow of the synth, guitars, and gentle choir of backing vocals. While the production from Jacob Harris adds a smoothness to all the little accents flying through this melody, it’s the chorus that really shines on the track with increasing reassurance on each repetition. Scothern’s soft baritone on the titular refrain in a sort of call and response with the steady shuffle of the bassline riff feels like a soothing sonic salve for the soul each time it hits.
