It’s time to surrender to the latest clip and single from Magon.
We’ve been a fan of France’s Magon for awhile and their understated combination of post punk, pop, and psychedelic rock continues to be transfixing. “Third Dimensional Love” is the latest single off of their debut album, Out In The Dark, and it’s got a hypnotizing groove. Somewhere between pondering love and a moment of adolescent danger, they get lost in a searing guitar line and hushed vocal melody that are sparring to be the focal point of the track. The fuzz-coated tune is jarring just when the comfort of its steady rhythm really sinks in, creating an unavoidable, uncertain push and pull.
Directed by Roy Menachem Markovich, the glitchy clip for “Third Dimensional Love” brings together the friendly tension of the song and its oddity inside of a shopping mall. Filling the mall’s arcade, escalator, halls, stores, and more with intense stares and a flying, three-dimensional replica of himself, Magon gives the shopping mecca something strange to think about as the bassline of the song forever pushes onward.
