We’re headed back to our indie rock roots on today’s new Um, Jennifer? track, “Glamour Girl.” The NYC-based duo of friends Elijah Scarpati and Fig Regan (aka Um, Jennifer) weave bright guitars through the track’s laidback undercurrent which balances the bite of the lyrics. Digging into the way relationships can be distorted by one’s own romanticized notions of their partner, the uneasy choruses of “Glamour Girl” hit on every repetition and fade to a perfectly salty resolution. The band says of the tune:
‘Glamour Girl’ is about relationship patterns. It’s about beauty, charm, and how we delude ourselves.
“Glamour Girl” is the latest track from the band’s upcoming EP, The Girl Class, due April 5, 2024 via Final Girl Records. Watch the band’s colorful video, directed by Elijah Scarpati, with a touch of surrealism that also examines relationship dynamics above. Listen to more from Um, Jennifer? here.
