Just as we begin to resurface from our scorcher of a week here in Portland, our annual Mega Summer Babes playlist has returned for year 9.
At this point, we’ve learned that we can’t beat the heat. But, we can embrace our best summer gal life and make it work for us. We enjoy collecting these 50 songs over the course of the year as a lengthy ode to what now kind of has found a colloquial name: hot girl summer. As always, not every song is cheery surf rock but there are plenty heart breakers and head bangers to keep your remaining summer days flavorful and fun. We’ve added some emotionally complex slower tracks in this year but all of these tunes still have the summer freedom sort of sway and a hint of sparkle. Enjoy with a cold beverage, wearing your sassiest sunglasses, or twirling in your favorite summer frock. Bop along below!
