Eve Adams shrouds trouble in a patient, twinkling charm on her latest tune, “Blues Look The Same.” A demure slice of honesty, the song is the first off of Adams’ new album, Metal Bird. Throughout the album and most specifically on this particular track, the Los Angeles-based artist has a knack for bringing relatable feelings to life in words that conjure vivid imagery and phrases that light up the senses.
“Blues Look The Same” is the kind of song the resonates and lingers. Amongst the swirl of the bending strum and chuck of the bassline, soft acoustic strums, and twang of the slide guitar, Adams lyrically tackles the inevitability of hardship and how its uniqueness for each person does not keep anyone from experiencing it. The emotion builds over the course of the song and really sinks in as the slide guitar and vocal melody lean more and more against one another. It’s a clever tune with an enchanting sway and sincerity at its core.
Adams says of the song:
“I think of this song as the prologue to many stories. It’s about the troubles that lurk behind the comfort of your plans and how tragedies show up in our lives. As the words suggest, I’d like to encourage a feeling of unity in life’s shadows, because we all find ourselves there at some point.”
