Video: Wilson’s Prom – “Love Fool” (Live at the Prom)

August 13, 2020

Today, we’re headed to a dreamy, makeshift dancehall in Melbourne with Wilson’s Prom for their live rendition of “Love Fool.” Wilson’s Prom is a new, collaborative project that combines the musical talents of James Seymour (aka Feelds) and Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt (aka Merpire) as they dive into the sonic world of “teenage love and hopeful hopelessness.” Their intoxicating debut single, “Love Fool,” yearns for the ability to love and express love without societal constraints. Swelling guitar riffs, twinkling synth, and a sweetly harmonized, instantly memorable chorus all contribute to the song’s sparkling allure and enduring charm.

In the live video above, we join the pair and their friends as they perform a live rendition of “Love Fool” in the kind of prom that only exists in color-coordinated dreams and this live video. Between the glow of the brightly-hued lights and the web of decorations, director Nick Mckk captures the isolation and dizzying romance at the center of the song in slow-moving closeups and constantly shifting angles and depths. Slow dance along with the song and live video above and look out for more from Wilson’s Prom.
