It’s been a busy year for Slow Pulp. This year, the Chicago-based four-piece released their four-track Big Day EP and really hit the ground touring. We’ve loved Slow Pulp since their infancy when they played one of the only shows we’ve ever thrown back in 2016. While their sound has evolved over time, their solid songwriting continues to have the same timeless, slow-burning feel. Big Day and their recent show at Wonder Ballroom are just a bigger, bolder, and more colorfully explosive version of everything we always loved about their indie rock.
When Slow Pulp came through town in support of (Sandy) Alex G and Tomberlin here in Portland, they were kind enough to snap some photos for us on a disposable camera. Those disposable camera photos and a selection of snaps of their recent tour’s memorable moments are above. Below you’ll find the sonic companion to the photoset: an eclectic mix of tunes Slow Pulp was listening to on tour. From old country to classic indie rock and even a Coldplay deep cut, there’s a little bit of a lot of different sounds for your listening pleasure. Have a flip through the photos while you listen to the playlist to get a snapshot of Slow Pulp’s tour.
If you are in Chicago, don’t miss Slow Pulp’s last show of the year at Schuba’s on Saturday (December 14th) and grab a ticket here. Or, catch them on tour again coming to a city near you next year!
