Marny Proudfit has blessed us with a gentle piece of her soul. Like any good folk song, the Utah songwriter’s latest tune, “Europe, Europe” is an honest portrait and processing of a time in her life that was filled with meaning. Shifting in a push and pull from past love to present pain, the sweeping melody is one that remembers and also tries to forget. Phrases ending in soft repetition, lush harmonies in the chorus, and twinkling plucks of guitar really blossom as the song progresses in a way that captures the magic lost in the love now gone. It’s a beautiful way to move on as best she can.
