We’re very much lovin’ the new tune from your pal and ours: Pat Cassidy. Known as a current member of The Districts, a former member of Keepers, and briefly as Sweet Vermilion, all-around cool guy Pat Cassidy knows how to write a charmer of a song. It’s not often we are treated to his talents as a sole songwriter or lead vocalist but every time is a pleasure. His latest, “Mid Life Elation,” turns the uncertainty of forthcoming life seasons into a hypnotizing groove. Cassidy’s gentle but determined vocals hover just above the song’s patter of drums as the melody presses onward towards the whirling chorus. The song really sinks in as the zipping guitars traverse the breakdown amidst a cushion of airy synths above and heavy synths below. Wallow and waste away to this smooth and subtle tune below.
