Here at Swell Tone, we love a good pop song. Whether it is a sing-a-long chorus that hits just right or the perfectly articulated bounce of synth, sometimes a well-written pop song is all we crave. We wanted to find a home for all of our favorite pure pop hits. Thus, Pop Up was born. Every month we bring you the songs that won’t stop spinning around our minds and making our hips shimmy. Enjoy!
Daniella Mason – “Girl In The Box”
This is such a clever track. All of the little nuances in the production make the big hits that much bigger. While we love every bit of it, we think the opening rise and the lyrics of the bridge really solidified this into a tune we’ll never get out of our heads.

Claudia Bouvette – “Don’t Like It”
Bouvette’s voice is heavenly. The speed of this song only serves to make it more engaging. Held together by a constantly shuffling current of percussive synth, this track never stops flowing.

Gold Spectacles – “I Can See The Future”
Arguably the catchiest track of today’s bunch, this tune might be the one you find yourself involuntarily singing. We certainly did. Guitars in a variety of tones and crisply articulated patterns really balance the heaviness of the bassline and the floor-to-ceiling spanning chorus. It’s bold and delicate at the same time.

Essie Holt – “Give Me The Night”
Weighted subtly at most, this song soars. Holt proves you can kickstart the imagination with minimalism. It’s an anthem with quiet repetitions of background vocals as the fuel to its pop fire.

Ora The Molecule – “A Piece of Heaven”
The mystical world this track embodies is built so tantalizingly over time. It’s a collision of unexpected parts that seem to have no set boundaries but a distinct groove. Expertly navigating between intriguing and exotic, this song is an experience.
