We’ll like you forever, we’ll love you for always.
It has been just over a month since we unexpectedly said goodbye to Stephen Fitzpatrick, Audun Laading and their tour manager Trevor Engelbrekston. The outpouring of love has shown the true impact that Her’s made on their fans and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing them. In keeping with the flow of positive memories and tributes, it seemed time for these portraits I took of Her’s in Portland last month to live somewhere online. Taken on some old film cameras, they were meant to match the photos the band had taken for us on a disposable camera back in Liverpool. While most of these photos are from Portland, there’s one snap from their show in Brighton in 2018. I’m eternally thankful for all the time I’ve gotten to spend with the pair and hope these photos bring a bit of joy in this time of continued grief.
As with any One Swell Day piece, I’ve included songs the band loved in a playlist below. They added to “Ear Tapas” for three years and its a wonderful sonic backdrop to any sunny day. If you are interested in donating to the families of Her’s or Trevor, all links are included below.
In lieu of flowers, their families have asked that donations be made to two charities close to their hearts: Shelter (Barrow-in-Furness) and The Whitechapel Centre, Liverpool. All proceeds from the sale of Her’s band merchandise will go to the families of Stephen and Audun. You can purchase band merchandise from Her’s official store here. You can also donate to Trevor’s family here.
