Debbie Downer look back in regret on “I Did It All For You.” The first tune from this Brooklyn band/Downer family shines with promise and a breezy swirl of surf and dream pop. Opposing their dejected name with candied compassion, the group deliver a hazy tune that directly addresses the other half of a soured past relationship. There’s a gentle sway in the song that get stronger as it progresses and shifts though the group’s different vocal textures and levels of bitterness. It’s just the right kind of melancholy daydream to siphon all of the sadness from the springtime sunshine. We can’t wait for more from Debbie Downer’s debut EP, You Know You’re Wrong.
