We’ve never stopped loving the angsty duo of Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker. Girlpool began their rise to popularity before relocating to Philadelphia in the beginning of the year and they haven’t slowed a bit. Their latest album, Before The World Was Big, is charged with the dueling plucked guitars and gruffly feminine vocals they have become known for, now polished to their full potential as an acoustic duo. “Cherry Picking” has always been a standout track and is sure to be highlight of the forthcoming album. If you’ve seen Girlpool live, it is likely that this is one song you will remember. An ideal showcase of both ends of the Girlpool spectrum, “Cherry Picking” brings to life the quiet innocence and youthful determination of the girls within one track. Tividad and Tucker’s harmonized lyrics sink in earnestly in hushed tones and belted highs. June 2nd can’t come soon enough.
