His slacker pop emerges in a bright new light on “Daffodil Days” where his husky baritone takes flight over a hopeful surge of melancholic, mellowed pop. Written, according to FADER, when a text to a friend about a “difficult” day was changed to “daffodil” day, the song is a search for the hope of tomorrow and the promise that bad days will always fade away.
