The latest two tracks from Mouton hum along without worry. Thanks to our friends at Cereal and Sounds we’ve been endlessly listening to the Missouri band’s two songss off of their latest 7″ split with Prahnas. Both tracks simmer with the kind of nonchalance that fills an easy, breezy summer day.
“Other Minds” is lyrically frantic and tonally gritty. It’s a warm song that hammers home it’s point with welcomed reputation and a chorus that seems meant to be sang as loudly as possible. In less than three minutes, rejuvenation abounds from its wonderings and riffs.
Much of the same can be said for “Real Boy.” There’s something about the combination of the line “I just find your blood electrifying” amongst a tinkling of keys that really makes the track glow despite the darkness of the rest of the lyrics. It will charm you and make you think as it varying guitars crash together.
