Before Creepoid closes their musical chapter as a band, they saved one, sweet love song for you. Eight years, four vans, and a heaping pile of hard work later, Creepoid have decided to move on from their dreamy, grunge rock journey as a band. There’s no better way to say goodbye, thank you, and to spread the love one last time than a cover of a classic love song.
In the warmth of their cozy living room in Fishtown dressed with hearts, Creepoid and Whiskey the pup gave a little of their signature mystique to this cover of Phil Phillip’s 1959 classic, “Sea of Love.” From the whispering synths to slowly progressing bassline, they’ve mellowed the original to an ideal balance of darkness, light, love, and dog pets. Bob Sweeney and Jake Detwiler combined to give the visuals and audio a fuzzy radiance that will make you fall in love with this cover even faster.
Creepoid plays their final show this Saturday at Union Transfer. Come cry tears fueled by the mixed emotions of something incredible ending as they play one last set for the ages and, as they would want us to remind you, bring weed.
