Tune: Lusts – “Mouthwash”

March 26, 2015

Lusts have got another instant hit with “Mouthwash.” It wasn’t just me who saw bigs things ahead for this Leicester brother duo when listening to their original pair of singles, “Sometimes” and “Waves.” Andy and James Stone’s (Lusts) instant charm exudes from their tight pop melodies swimming in oceans of reverb. Now signed to 1965 Records, “Mouthwash” echoes with the same warm, psychedelic vibes as their last single, “Temptation.” Surrounded by a whirlpool of swirling, fuzzy guitar, bleak verses sweep into an exhilarating chorus as the bass line keeps time. If you weren’t listening too closely, you might think Justin Hayward-Young got himself a new, post punk, backing band. Want more Lusts? Fill your ears below.
