EP: The Walters – Songs for Dads

January 12, 2015

Though Swell Tone already has a whole playlist dedicated to dad dancing, I might love Songs For Dads more. Chicago’s The Walters are making particularly dreamy pop with a splash of sunshine and a full-on ability to make listeners swoon. The gentle, breezy little numbers that comprise Songs For Dads really make a smooth and complete formation of their signature sound. Even though it came out in November, I’m just unashamedly falling in love with it now. With softly pressed keys, tingling tambourine, gliding guitar, and open professions of love, it’s simply hard not to.  I’m certainly hoping these “five regular hunks” have more in store for 2015 and (of course) that they come to Philadelphia.

[…] Those dreamy hunks, The Walters, have got a new video that will have you feeling all kinds of feelings. After coming across the band on Reddit, budding London filmmaker Louis Jopling asked the band if he could make a video for “I Love You So.” The result is charmingly adorable and surprisingly heartbreaking. It’s a refreshing take on the particular love struggle expressed in the lyrics of the song that involves teddy bears and extreme emotional attachment. Jopling does a great job capturing the little things and making you think with unexpected twists and turns. Watch for yourself to learn more about teddy bear love affairs and hear the swoon-worthy pop of The Walters. Then, listen to the rest of their EP. […]
